The Cedar Lane Supper Club in McRae, Georgia can best be described as a tradition..... Started in 1977 by Aubrey & Katie Stone in what was once an old Elks Lodge on the Walter Dyal (pictured below) property located just off Highway 280, the business flourished. However the Stone's sold it in 1984 & watched as it changed hands several times before buying it back in 1992. They lovingly ran the restaurant until they both passed away in 2003 at which time their daughter, Bonnie Greene, took it over. Bonnie is a graduate of Georgia College where she received a degree in Home Economics. Taking what she learned in school & combining it with what she learned growing up in the kitchen of Cedar Lane, Bonnie has managed to keep the family tradition going strong! She offers the patron a superb meal in a family friendly atmosphere. The restaurant has moved from it's original site to 150 Grahamville Road (pictured above), just south of McRae but made certain to carry with it what has made it unique & special. Along side Bonnie in the kitchen of Cedar Lane is a Mother - Daughter team, Janeen Hamilin & Brandy Selph, preparing steak & seafood. The waitressing staff in some cases has been with Cedar Lane for over 10 years. It's more than a business in McRae, it's family feeding families. The restaurant seats 350 & also has four banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 32 people in each. Patrons can serve themselves at the all-you-can-eat salad bar, boasted as the largest in the state, which contains some 50 plus fresh items. Among them are homemade salads, pasta , potato & fruit, recipes Mrs. Katie passed down to Bonnie, time tasted & loved. There are also nightly specials, seafood platters, t-bone steaks, handmade rolls & desserts, if you can manage. People don't generally leave Cedar Lane hungry. While waiting on your meal, patrons can enjoy browsing all the local & exotic animal mounts displayed in Cedar Lane including the State White Tail Deer Record taken by Billy Joe Padget. After your meal, slip outside to a wrap-around porch overlooking the beautiful Cedar Lane lake where fish, turtles & ducks can be fed or just relax in a swing or rocker before your drive home. Cedar Lane is perfectly capable of handling business meetings, parties, rehearsal dinners & family celebrations. They also host local fund-raising events, such as the "It's Never Foolish to Spay & Neuter" events for the Rescue Ranch Foundation where they donate 100% of the night's profits to the program. Caring for the community & it's pets is an important part of the Cedar Lane tradition! So if you find yourself in McRae & very hungry, stop by the Cedar Lane Supper Club & enjoy a meal with Bonnie & her family. They'd love to serve you!
